‘Listening to the Assad Brothers is a bit like hearing four hands playing one large guitar.’
Los Angeles Times
Described by the Washington Post as quite simply 'the best two-guitar team in existence, maybe even in history', Brazilian-born brothers and Latin Grammy winners Sérgio and Odair Assad have set the benchmark for all other guitarists by creating a new standard of guitar innovation, ingenuity and expression. Having also played a major role in creating and introducing new music for two guitars, the duo is known for their uncanny ensemble-playing, which also extends to collaborations with such renowned artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Paquito D'Rivera and Gidon Kremer.
Join Sérgio and Odair Assad on 26th September as they share their expertise with RAM students in a morning of open masterclasses, followed by a live Q&A session in the afternoon with Michael Lewin, Head of the RAM Guitar Department, as they discuss music, guitars...and more!
Organised by ILAMS and the Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music as part of the Guitarrísimo series
